Have you ever heard the phrase “this room is busy?” That is the role of fabrics, textures, and art. Depending on how much movement you want your client's home to have will determine how conservative or dramatic you are with the selection of these items. Same with wallpaper.

Desiring the light, airy, flowy home: you want to aim for softer textures, light fabrics such as linen for example. Light colored curtains, lighter pillows, soft neutral art & decorative pieces, and furniture selections.

Dramatic or Whimsical: you want to aim for more eye-catching textures such as velvets, leathers, cottons etc. Curtain colors and textures would be warmer and heavier. Also accent chairs and comforters would have the same affect.
